Our embroidery font files can be downloaded
in the EMB format so that they can be resized
well and converted to these machine embroidery
formats: art for
Artista, pcs for Phaff, pes for Brother
/ Deco / Baby lock, jef and
sew for Janome / Elna / New Home,
hus for Husqvarna / Viking, xxx for Singer
and dst formats for both commercial and
home craft sewing machines.
Each individual letter/character may be
used by opening, converting and stitching
just as you would any other design file.
If you wish to create a name/word you will
need the editing software to form the name
/ word before you convert and stitch it.
Straight and arced baselines are included
to help align each character when using
more than one letter / character to create
a word/name.
If you need the baseline to help keep the
lettering straight, arced or blocked, add
the appropriate baseline style first, followed
by the individual character/letter in the
order you want them to stitch out. Doing
this will avoid long jump stitches that
will result in poor stitch registration
due to long jump stitches from one character
to another. To omit stitching the baseline
use a different color from the font letter
/ character color for the baseline; simply
skip the 1st color stop to avoid stitching
the baseline.
CAUTION: It is up to you to make sure that
the word/name will fit within the stitch
area of your machine! If you create a word/name
that is too large it could result in damage
to your hoop or machine.
~ FONT ORIGINAL SIZE & RESIZING ~
Style TAF07_Pennnant Script font is 2" in
size; if you would like to resize [maximum
of 25% up or down], please use the program
you downloaded to work with our fonts. The
program is required in order to open the
EMB file format and to recalculate the stitches
correctly.
The column width of 07 Pennant Script is
suitable to resize more than a satin stitch
font style. This style may resize to a minimum
of 1 1/2" to a maximum of 2 1/2". Attempting
to resize in any software other than the
one suggested to download is not recommended
due to the recalculation of stitch count.
In addition, unless you are familiar with
creating fonts / lettering, the underlay
style requirements will vary from one font
style to another depending on the column
width of each style. I've used the correct
underlay for each style unless you try to
make them considerably larger or smaller;
hence the warning regarding resizing!
IMPORTANT NOTES:
All editing or resizing should be done prior
to conversion; once the EMB files are converted,
they should not be altered. Should you need
to perform additional editing,go back to
the original EMB file format.
~ STABILIZER ~
Be sure to use the correct stabilizer for
the project at hand. Make sure that your
stabilizer style decision is based on a]
fabric and b] design density & c] the estimated
amount of use. Most projects will require
a medium weight, polyester stabilizer.
~ NEEDLES ~
The correct needle type and size is critical
to good lettering stitch results; always
start with a new needle for lettering done
in satin stitch! Always use sharps for a
woven fabric and ballpoint for knit fabric.
If you attempt to use a ballpoint needle
to stitch a satin stitch on woven fabric
you will not get proper stitch registration; the
results will be uneven column edges!
