Embroidery - August Class Project # 3

Split Sweatshirt Jacket

Objectives - Our goal is to teach you how to:

This project is to create a cardigan jacket from a sweatshirt that will be
embellished with embroidery. A raglan sleeve or set in sleeve sweatshirt will
work with this method, but is not included in the kit & will have to be
purchased by each person. A *good quality* sweatshirt is essential to the
success of this project. The cut edges of the sweatshirt will be finished with
wide bias tape. For those with more advanced sewing skills there is an option
to finish the center front of the sweatshirt with a zipper. [We have been
given permission by Jan Boggan to use her instructions for applying a zipper.

PROJECT THEMES:
In order to finish the kit that will be required to participate in the project,
*4* design set choices [all sets have 4x4, & larger, designs included]:

1] 128 Walk in the Past for beginners who want to scatter designs all over so placement doesn't have to be exact!
Click on image to See the collection >
2] 116 Fall Miracles for beginner/intermediate who want to scatter + some
appliqué as well as filled motifs. I used these on a jacket & "smattered"
metallic thread for highlights--beautiful results!
Pear Embroidery Designs
3] 112 Decidedly Different for intermediate /advanced embroidery & placement
experience to combine larger motifs OR to simply scatter. Will require
re-hooping & placement skills if you have a smaller embroidery field.
4] 117 Japanese Botanicals [for intermediate/advanced embroidery & placement
experience & those who like to do combining & mini scenes. Again, will require
re-hooping & placement skills if you have a smaller embroidery field.

News Special - New Lessons / Projects starting Soon -
Don't miss out - See how to participate below

Our new project has a lots of options, so that everyone can join in - even beginners can get the help they need from Sandy and others who are doing this project just for the fun of it.  We think it's more enjoyable when we can share our experiences and pictures of our projects with others. This project has broad appeal with the options for everyone from experts to beginner sewists.
There is an easier version with little sewing, & 4 design options and lots of options for placement of designs. Sandy gives us the scoop on stabilizers to make it a quality project that you will be proud to wear when it is finished.  This one should give us plenty of opportunities to share our experiences and our finished projects.  You will be able to let your creativity shine under the direction and guidance of Sandy and using her beautiful designs.
