Split Sweatshirt Jacket
Objectives - Our goal is to teach you how to:
learn embroidery designs placement, both where to place & how to obtain accuracy
combine designs
proper stabilizing for knit fleece
balancing motifs for a pleasing effect
learn how to split a closed top & finish the edges.
This project is to create a cardigan
jacket from a sweatshirt that will be
embellished with embroidery. A raglan sleeve or set in sleeve sweatshirt will
work with this method, but is not included in the kit & will have to be
purchased by each person. A *good quality* sweatshirt is essential to the
success of this project. The cut edges of the sweatshirt will be finished with
wide bias tape. For those with more advanced sewing skills there is an option
to finish the center front of the sweatshirt with a zipper. [We have been
given permission by Jan Boggan to use her instructions for applying a zipper.
